The army I will go into about today are my Pre Heresy Thousand Sons. I would like to apologise in advance for some of the pictures (mainly the last one), I am currently using an Iphone 5S as my source of taking photos with a Horus Heresy box lid as the back drop, hopefully I can source better equipment to get some better photos soon.
I started Thousand Sons due to them being a legion I have not seen many people field (yes, this is the reason for most of my decisions). Upon deciding on using Thousand Sons I purchased a Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth, box set. This is a brilliant kit with some very nice miniatures including a good variety of weapon choices. I also read A Thousand Sons by Graham McNeil, of which I would highly recommend not only to those deciding on collecting Thousand Sons.
Right, enough talking and now onto the pictures.
Firstly we have the librarian which was converted from the chaplain in the Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth set and parts from a Grey Knights Strike squad (Halberd, Left hand and purity seals).

Next up, are a 5 man tactical squad. They are all armed with standard bolters and have the Forge World shoulder pads to make it easier to paint the symbol. The only problem I have with these is that the rim around the shoulder pad is twice the thickness of the shoulder pads from Betrayal at Calth, which in turn is a positive as it makes that area stand out slightly.

Below is an extremely blurred picture of the next librarian who is a work in progress currently. The main bulk of the miniature is from the Forge World Mk IV captain and banner bearer. Whilst swapping out the left arm with the sword for a straightened arm and again using a hand from the Grey Knights Strike squad box.

Finally, the Legion Sicaran Battle tank. I'm sure many of you out there would agree, if I was to buy anything from Forge World for the Horus Heresy, it would be this. Currently it is still being stuck together after washing all the resin and straightening the barrels as they came slightly warped.

I have 10 more tactical marines which are in different stages of completion in regards to being painted, plus the rest of the Betrayal at Calth set. Also the banner bearer that came with the captain above, who will become my 3rd librarian.
If I can figure out some way of creating a comments section for posts, please leave a post on your favourite legion. Or pictures of legion models you have painted.
